Isobel Brigham (b.1963) trained at Chelsea School of Art (1992) and went on to study as a postgraduate at The Slade School of Fine Art (1994).

In 1990 she was awarded the second prize in the National Competition for British Art Students ‘Christie’s Contemporary View’ at the RCA.

She won the second prize in the ‘BP Portrait Award’ at the National Portrait Gallery in 1995 and has consistently won, or been honoured in major British painting awards throughout her thirty year career.

In 2016 she was awarded first prize and ‘The ING Discerning Eye Drawing Bursary’.

In 2023 her work was shortlisted for the Ruth Borchard Prize and in 2024 her short film ‘Female Pensée’ was premiered at the Portobello Film Festival.

She works from her studio just off Portobello Road.
